If your company policy enables "Past Day" submissions, you can apply for leave even after the actual date of absence has passed.
Understanding the "Past Day" Calculation
The system calculates the allowed window excluding the current day.
The Rule: "Past day" counting starts from yesterday and goes backward.
Example Scenario: * Policy Limit: 3 Past Days allowed.
Today’s Date: Thursday.
Calculation:
Wednesday (1 day past)
Tuesday (2 days past)
Monday (3 days past)
Result: You can submit leave for Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. You cannot submit for the previous Sunday, as that would be 4 days past.
How to Submit from the Mobile App/Web
Go to the Leave module and select Request Leave.
Open the Date Picker.
Select the past date you were absent.
Note: If the date is greyed out or unselectable, it means you have exceeded the "Past Day" limit set in your company policy.
Select the Leave Type and provide a reason (e.g., "Emergency family matter").
Submit the request for approval.
Why Use Past-Day Leave?
Use Case | Benefit |
Emergency Situations | Allows you to focus on the emergency first and record the leave once you are back in a safe position to do so. |
Technical Issues | If you couldn't access the app on the day of your absence, you can still ensure your attendance record is accurate later. |
Administrative Accuracy | Ensures that "Absence" flags on the dashboard are converted into "Approved Leave" for payroll purposes. |

Approval Still Required
Submitting a past-day leave request does not mean it is automatically approved. It will follow the standard approval workflow (Manager or Second Approval) before it is finalized in the system.
