If your company offers fixed monthly allowances or recurring deductions—like Meal Allowance or Fine Deduction—you can easily set them up using the Regular method in Better HR.

✅ Step 1: Create the Allowance Column (e.g., Meal Allowance)

  1. Go to Settings > Payroll tab.

  2. Under the Allowance section, click + Create Custom Allowance.

  3. In the popup:

    • Enter “Meal Allowance” under Custom Income Type Name.

    • Leave the logic as Regular (selected by default).

    • Click Create.

✅ Step 2: Create the Deduction Column (e.g., Fine Deduction)

  1. In the same Settings > Payroll tab, scroll down to the Deduction section.

  2. Click + Create Custom Deduction.

  3. In the popup:

    • Enter “Fine Deduction” under Custom Income Type Name.

    • Keep the default Regular logic.

    • Click Create.

✅ Step 3: Assign Amounts to Employees

  1. Go to the Employee tab from the main left sidebar.

  2. Click on the employee’s name to open their profile.

  3. Open the Payroll Setting tab.

For Meal Allowance:

  • Under the Allowance section, locate “Meal Allowance”.

  • To give a fixed amount monthly: type the value in the box.

  • If the amount varies, leave it blank. You can input or import it during payroll generation.

For Fine Deduction:

  • Scroll to the Deduction section, find “Fine Deduction”.

  • To deduct a fixed amount monthly: type the value in the box.

  • If the amount varies, leave it blank. You can edit or import it later in the payroll process.

Important: After entering or editing the allowance or deduction amount, scroll down and click "Update" at the top right corner to save the changes.
