How to Add Leave on Behalf of an Employee

Sometimes, employees are unable to submit their own leave due to urgent matters or time constraints. In such cases, HR or managers can add leave on their behalf using the Better HR system.

Follow these steps to manually add leave for an employee:

  • Step 1: Click on the Leave tab in the left sidebar. You’ll be directed to the Leave Balance page.

  • Step 3: Click the “Add Leave” button located at the top-right corner of the page. A pop-up form titled “Add Leave” will appear.

    Fill in the required details:

    • Choose People: Type the employee’s name and select from the drop-down list.

    • Leave Type: Select the appropriate leave type (e.g., Annual, Sick).

    • Duration: Choose whether it’s a Full Day, Morning Half, or Evening Half.

    • Description: Enter the reason for the leave.

    • Leave Date: Select the date from the calendar.

    Click “Add Leave” to confirm and apply the leave request.


View Individual Leave History

After adding the leave, you can review the employee’s full leave history:

  • Click on the employee’s name from the leave balance list.

  • You’ll be directed to that employee’s Leave History page, showing all leave taken in the current year. Use the year filter to view past leave records submitted by the employee.
