The assignment stage helps you assess candidates’ practical skills with real tasks. Only candidates who have passed the screening process and are in the Qualified stage can receive an assignment.

⚠️ Requirement: Candidate Must Be in the Qualified Stage

Only candidates marked as qualified after screening can be sent to the Assignment stage.

Step 1: Add an Assignment to a Qualified Candidate

  • Go to the Candidates tab under the relevant job post.

  • Find a candidate in the Qualified section and click on their name to open the action box.

  • In the pop-up, click the Assignment tab (next to Basic Info).

  • Click + Add Assignment and fill in:

    • Title

    • Description

    • Attach File (optional)

    • Deadline (optional)

  • Click Send to deliver the assignment to the candidate.

  • The assignment will remain in " Sent Assignment Stage" until the candidate submits their response.

Step 3: Candidate Completes the Assignment

  • The candidate will receive the assignment via the Better Jobs App or the Better Jobs Website.

  • They can complete and submit it directly through the app or website.

  • If the candidate is using the web version of Better Jobs, they can also submit their assignment directly through the website, not just the mobile app.

Step 4: Review Submission

Once the candidate submits the assignment through the Better Jobs App, you can review their response in two ways:

🖥️ Dashboard View (Web Platform):

  • Go to the Candidates tab under the relevant job post.

  • Click on the candidate’s name to open the action box.

  • Navigate to the Assignment tab.

  • The submitted file and response will be visible for review.

  • Based on the evaluation, you can decide whether to move the candidate forward to the Interview stage.

📱 Mobile View (Admin via Better HR App):

  • Once the candidate submits their assignment, the Admin will receive a notification in the Better HR App inbox.

  • From the inbox, the admin can:

    • View the candidate’s submitted assignment

    • Give a performance rating

    • Select a suggested action:

      • Not Sure

      • Proceed to Next Stage

      • Reject

This dual access ensures you can manage evaluations efficiently, whether you’re at your desk or on the move.

Step 5: Check Assignment Feedback

Before moving the candidate to the Interview stage, it’s important to review the assignment feedback.

  • While in the action box, go to the Basic Info tab.

  • Scroll down to the Activities section.

  • Here, you’ll find the assignment feedback, including:

    • Rating given by the reviewer

    • Suggested action such as “Not Sure,” “Proceed to Next Stage,” or “Reject”

Use this feedback to make a decision on whether the candidate is ready to move to the Interview stage.

✅ Tips

  • Assignments should reflect actual job tasks to give you a clearer view of candidate fit.

  • Provide clear instructions and reasonable deadlines to ensure quality submissions.
